Hello Gracepoint! I’m Sofia, the MCC Summerbridge Intern, and I have an event for you!

One of the things I am most passionate about is service. This summer, I will be hosting an event to learn about and advocate for Food Security, called “From 5 to 5000,” in reference to Jesus feeding the 5000. On Saturday, August 15th, from 2-4:30, we will spend time together learning about Food Insecurity in general and in our community, participate in MCC’s Poverty Simulator ‘Holding it Together,’ and explore practical ways to respond to these crises. Families are welcome.

Gracepoint has been investing in Food Security for many years through the Community Dinner. We hope that this event will provide us with a deeper understanding of the issue and its affects, and the many ways in which we can biblically and holistically respond. If you are passionate about Food Security and advocacy, want to learn more, or are just looking for an air-conditioned Saturday activity, come out and join us!

There will be a sign-up sheet at the Welcome Centre and online here.
