Michelle Rakotonaivo

Children's Pastor, Surrey South Campus

I was born in Madagascar and accepted Jesus as my personal Saviour just before I left my native country at the age of 16. I lived in New York City and Montreal before moving to B.C.

I believe in God’s planning for our lives and the power of prayer. My life and career is a testimony for what He has planned for me and my family. I graduated with a degree in marketing and international management (specializing in strategic planning). After the birth of my second child, I decided to be a full-time mom and got involved more in my local church. I was the Treasurer, Women’s Ministry and Children’s Ministry leader for five years. I went back to school to get my licence as an Early Childhood Educator. I was and still am very involved with the francophone community.

Wonderfaire brought my family and me to Gracepoint. I was impressed with the professionalism and the impact of this outreach event to many families. Joining the Kids Unlimited team at Gracepoint was a privilege and blessing for me. I enjoy so many things about my position here: watching the preschoolers light up as they explore God's world, hearing the little ones say “Jesus loves me,” watching the caregivers show Jesus’ love to the children, seeing the volunteers’ lives change through their ministries, and helping the children know that God made them, God loves them and Jesus can be their best friend.
